4/24/2005
hey all, anytime no, (within the next week) a new guest book system will be put into place, s don't be scared if it looks different! i will ( i am pretty sure) ask you to submit an email address in order to protect you from address theives, so don't worry about that! there will also be lots of new photos, catching up, new gig list, etc! sorry it took so long to get around to this all, but it will be worth it! Hey Michael, i called Elmer bradley, nice guy, and he is sending me a Bradley Capo to check out! yippee!!! see ya all later! sally

4/23/2005
Ab13#11b9 eh? very nice

4/22/2005
Bill who?

4/22/2005
I use that chord all the time now.

4/22/2005
I believe Bill is busy tying to work out how to play a Ab13#11b9 chord on his dobro.

I just hope he knows what to do with it when he works out how.

4/21/2005
Sally - as far as I know Elmer only sells through phone calls and mailing him a check. He's in Indiana and his number is 812-432-3205. Nice guy, I'm sure he'd love to hear from you.

MB

4/19/2005
PS- i want to look at one of theose bradley capos, how do I find this guy???

4/19/2005
Hi Dalton ol' boy. you haven't emailed me since sorefingers, have you changed loyalties??? how did the class go? sally

4/19/2005
Yup - I'm here. Glad you're enjoying it Bill. When I picked up yours, I actually bought a second as a spare since Elmer may not be making them too much longer. I also fairly recently got a Leno. Not bad, but not great either. You have to put it on just right or it can sound bad, or even pop off the neck. It was really just a test, I've gone back to the Bradley, or if I want something small the Flux. I now have 2 Bradleys, a Beard, a flux and a leno. Yikes.

Hope all is well with all. I'm off to New Orleans for JazzFest in a couple days, then to Merlefest. Gonna be a fun vacation. - MB

4/19/2005
I am really impressed with my Bradley capo. A little chunkier than my Beard model but great tone (for a capo). Cheers MB!

Anyone else out there? Bill

4/16/2005
Saxe Coburg Gothe

The real surname of the British Royal family!

Bill

4/14/2005
Royal parasites. A opposed to Parisite which is a piece of real estate in France.

dave

4/11/2005
In advance, I would like to apologise for the British electorate and what there are about to do. Devolve the pricipalities! Say no to London rule!

I just needed to vent that. Thank you,

Bill

4/11/2005
What?! No messages for days here!

And I thought this was the best surreal slide place around the web.

4/8/2005
dear todd -- there he ....

4/5/2005
Hey gang, Todd Livingston here. Sally and I both had quite an amusing experience today. In fact, I am watching her leave this little cafe' where her and I just heard both of ourselves playing on the radio, and only a few songs apart. Pretty funny, It was the same session, but different tunes. It's pretty silly going, "hey, that's me" and then saying, "hey that's you" HA!!! hope all is well out there in reso-land. all the best for now. Todd

4/4/2005
Hi To All out there on the forum- a quick note to let you know that my site will possibly be down this week for a few days, my webmaster is doing some upgrading to a new server, which will offer a few new things to make surfing the site more user friendly, and I will be able to update more often for you all!Sso, if you go there and the site is down, it will be UP again soon, promise! my best, Sally

dave

4/4/2005

They played lennie's new cd over the main hall PA at break-time... wow did it sound good and lennie came over all modest for a few seconds!! We had a wee release party and drank champagne. Sally, we made sure lennie truly celebrated...i think he got to bed at 5am and he didn't make the next morning's class!! You can check the cd out at lennie's website....... http://www.lennieharvey.com. Hope that's cool to be so blatant here sally??

3/21/2005
Bill, I might try and make the trek in November. We'll see. I need to figure out how to make money while I am there. Maybe some workshops? pottery? how sweet!

3/20/2005
Thought for Today: You are not a human being having a spiritual experience, but a spiritual being having a human experience. It's like pottery in motion.....

3/19/2005
Good one Todd -- I'll try and get mine as sore as I can stand. Don't worry about your typig I think it's sheer pottery!

When you coming visiting?

Bill

3/19/2005
man, even sore fingers sounds gross to me! ps I am a sorry ass speller that's for sure. Todd

3/19/2005
2 seperate weird things? -- Todd and butt?

Just assemble those words into pottery! :-)

Josh?, Sally?, JD? NAh!

I'm a dapper dan man

3/18/2005
Little Todd eh? Great player ---- there he goes.

3/18/2005
oh yeah, todd don't mention two separate weird things that come together to make a very ugly visual in my forum!!!

3/18/2005
I hereby volunteer to be the tutor at s-fingers next year, what do i have to do guys??? sally

3/18/2005
Jeeez, all this steel licking has gotten me off of my sorry butt. Ew! I said butt, and licking very close to each other, argggh I've said it again!!! I am on the road and in beautiful Wyoming. I am at the Trap bar at the Grand Targhee resort. Hit and Run is playing a bunch of gigs for ski bums. Sally, next time I'm home for a bit longer of a spell, so we can pick more, plus Margs!!! Our record? It's coming along alright I guess. I haven't heard a rough mix yet. Thanks for asking Dave. Everyone steals, it's still gonna be you, no matter what. It's all about learning a language. Are you a Josh player? You listen to a ton of Sally? I love Jerry's older stuff, that's just me. You all get me? It's like learning to put words into sentances, and then making potery. I guess. Borrowing is great, it's influence. You can get a certain feel from something and then play it your own way. All of this is just my own little say. Hope you all have a good dobro day. Later, Todd

3/17/2005
As for Sore Fingers 2006 --- We should be rooting for a really great player to come and show us a few things and I hope have fun hanging out with us. Anyone any ideas?

Anyone else licked their steel?

3/17/2005
Bill - we're thinking of heading over that way next year. We'll see about Sore fingers. BTW - Your package went out air mail a couple days ago. You should have it pretty soon. MB

3/17/2005
And who are we pushing for, for tutor at sore fingers 2006????? Someone special!!!

dave

3/16/2005
It's Sore Fingers School in the Cotswold area of England over Easter week. C'mon you guys - have a think about coming over for a little fun playing and hanging out. 2006 bookings will open straight after this school. Think about it --- Lennie, Dave and myself are typical of the people over here. Aren't we?

Bill

3/15/2005
Thanks for the heads up on the Greg Leitz stuff Sally. Astounding playing. Regarding stealing licks or licking steels -- has anyone played around with translating pedal steel licks onto a Dobro? I have a got a couple of moves with string pulls on the 2nd string -- creating a sus4(?)

My steel tastes funny.

TTFN

Bill

3/15/2005
Not your steel. You have to lick everyone elses steel.

3/15/2005
So why do I have to lick my steel?

3/12/2005
all aboard the stealing licks train... i likely don't have an original lick in my book of ideas either. I do agree with dave currie on his thoughts. when i come to scotland in september, i plan on stealing from everyone there...

3/11/2005
Sorry Dave --- the name Lonesome is taken!

Bill

3/11/2005
Ah bill you sweet tongued devil, you say the nicest things. Steal what you can from doug Cox and then i can steal'em from you. On a more serious????????????? note, i agree with MB , there are only so many notes out there and only so many patterns, so your individuality comes through by where and when you use the patterns and how you combine them. Oh by the way i've joined a new band of youngsters. What do you think of our great name.....Pirates Aboard.....lonesome or what??

dave

3/11/2005
I have been listening to Greg Leitz -- this guy has some really original licks going. I reckon he did not start playing from a BG tradition. As for my own licks - I stole them all from Dave Currie.

Bill

3/10/2005
You're right Sally. I'm not sure I have an original lick in my repetoire. It's how you put the different licks together that makes you different. MB

3/10/2005
Can't say i've noticed anyone stealin from me so far.

dave

3/10/2005
wow, some real conversation on my site!!! i almost don't know how to handle that! I have been getting together withTodd L (now that he is back), and we have been having great fun sharing ideas and man can that kid play!!! I am going to steal lots of stuff from him, which i know he has stolen from elsewhere... that is the way you know!!! Even Jerry told me one time years and years ago while making my record that everyone steals/ borrows from everyone... any opinions on that one? sally v

3/10/2005
I've been working out some of Ivan's stuff from his last album with Chris Stuart. There's a nice haunting dobro solo called Ullapool which is nice and slow and relatively easy to figure out what's going on. I also like the playing on a swing tune called "time was" which includes a couple of brilliant cheesy moments including a great whoopdedoo. Just ordered his new solo album but it hasn't arrived yet. How's the new album coming along Todd??

dave

3/9/2005
I've been trying to steal licks from a CD by a band called Hit and Run. Not sure who the reso player is though.

Kidding aside, I've been slacking a little lately on learning new stuff, but I've been thinking about it. After working on Unionhouse Branch for a while, my Scheerhorn arrived. I've been spending time marveling while playing all the stuff I know on that - because everything sounds different. Plus working up original breaks for 2 bands has been taking up a lot of time. Not much learning for my own good in the last couple months, although I want to start working on a couple more solo reso pieces. The two that come to mind are JDs "Make a Wish" and RIs "Ireland, Love of My Heart". Also been working on a couple originals.

Hope everyone's well and good. Bill D - check your mail - I have your capo.

Latex - MB

3/9/2005
Has anyone figured out a cool solo as of late? I have been learing lots of cool stuff off of The Bluegrass Album Band Vol.III. I think here is some great JD stuff on all those records. All the best for now, Todd Livingston

3/4/2005

3/2/2005
Hi Sally, dave here not st dave he's welsh!!and ate leeks. Bryn Williams used to run the Helsby Bluegrass Club. I played there a few years back. Nice place. 2/23/2005
I use a gonzo capo, it makes my pickin better, but my tone sucks.

2/23/2005
I think they are around $65 USD. A little costly, but worth it if you capo and want the best tone.

2/23/2005
MB, how much is a bradly....ballpark figure. I'm using a Beard and although it's basically OK, you have to be a bit careful when tightening it that you don't get it out of alignment.

dave

2/22/2005
There is not website. All people I know that have dealt with Elmer has been via mail and telephone. Here's the info I have:

Elmer Bradley 15905 U.S. 50 Dillsboro, IN 47018 812-732-3205

Once again - if you want a Bradley capo (or steel) I recommend you order it soon. If there is someone out of the country (Bill) that needs me to call or get something set up. I'd be glad to do it for you. Just e-mail me at mbindc@comcast.net

2/22/2005
Hey Michael, is there a web address or phone, etc for Elmer Bradley? if so, could you post it for us?

2/22/2005
I have a Bradley. To my ear it has the best tone of any capo I've used. It's a little bit big though. I've also been testing out a Leno lately, not bad. It seems to want to fall off if you don't put it on perferctly. The Bradley has great tone and is very easy to use. I heard somewhere Elmer may not be mnaking them much longer, so if I were you I would get one soon. They are a little costly. MB

2/22/2005
A serious question -- Anyone have a Bradley capo? And the verdict -- vs say Beard?

Oh -- I like ginger beer.

Bill and there I go..........

2/16/2005
None of that ###### vibrato going down then Todd?

2/15/2005
hey gang, first day in the studio yesterday, lots of fun. It took us quite a bit of time getting tones, but once we did we co-tore it up! We cut one tune yesterday and I am super excited about it, along with the other tunes we are fixing to record. I will find out the name on the dobro mics cause they sound pretty sweet. It's really quite fun, I love listening to stuff ever so closely. I feel like a different player after a day or two in the studio. All the best for now, Todd

2/10/2005
Thanks Bill, Tell the badly bent gang howdy. And Anders too! Look forward to seein ya'll at the Meltdown.

2/10/2005
Hi All, Congrats Todd! Well deserved victory. Yes we have captured Sally here in lovely Durango CO and are having a blast catching up! Anders & I are fortunate enough to be able to sit with her this AM to see if any of her vituosity is translatable to her ever-admiring fan (Dobro-hacks) club here in the four corners area. Sally did a WONDERFUL job producing our CD in November, I promise more stories soon on that subject! Visit www.thebadlybent.com for sound bites. Bill Adams

2/9/2005
i wish it was a European tour!!! the prize was money. yipeeee.

2/9/2005
Hey Todd well done to y'all. What was the prize? was it a European tour?

dave

2/8/2005
hey gang, Todd Livingston here. Yup, SPBGMA quite a shock really. All we did was get out there and be ourselves, and they dug it. It was a total surprise. So, I had mentioned earlier that I would give a little blow by blow for the studio that H&R is gonna record in. Well, we haven't started yet, so there isn't anything to say, but I'll keep you all updated. Sally, I gave Dede a big hug for ya. I think she's gonna move, but who knows. Take care everybody

2/7/2005
Just saw on a DCBG board that Hit & Run won the SPBGMA Band Contest. Congrats TL, et al - MB

2/7/2005
Sally I got that you may have worked out that I may just be as bad as Bill D. Cheers Bill W

2/7/2005
you know I was referring to bill dalton as well!

2/6/2005
you are correct about my spelling, no brain for the the information to stay in .Bill W

2/6/2005
i think you can learn a lot about the dobro from Bill D Bill W, but you might want to both take a course in your spelling!

2/6/2005
presence not presrnce stupid english Bill W .

2/6/2005
Hello Sally I was in presrnce of our friend Bill Dalton am on the rocky road to learning the Dobro and Bill is my Teacher. Sanity does not allways play a big thing but music does. Take care Bill White in Noth Wales.

2/6/2005
you must admit, this is a bit of a fun forum- tho a bit strange at times?

2/6/2005
or perhaps it was David Currie? hmmmmmmm.

2/6/2005
Hi Bill! i know who is making up those terrible names--- if i was your teacher, you would be writing on the blackboard at least 200 times " i shall not use silly language on the forum'... Hi there tim, let me know where you are and i will locate a music camp for you to attend, hopefully one where i will be teaching! there are many great dobro recordings- if you don't own the Great Dobro Sessions' on Sugar Hill, you simply must go out and get it!!! Bill, you are so sweet! sally

Tim --- find a workshop or camp near to you. You will get so much out of it, believe me. As I'm in the UK I can't point you in the direction of a local event. Good luck, Bill

All in Good Time -- Sugar Hill label

Wonderful!

Can anyone recommend recordings for an aspiring new Dobro player please. This seems like a forum of fun?! I can play Fireball Mail from a video that I have but I would like more direction in this particular style.

Speaking of ebay have a look at the auction for the cream re-union concert and be very amazed.

2/4/2005

Dear Dick

There is one on ebay with only a few hours left till end of auction. I think I could source some placostamus. Send address but don't tell everybody.

2/4/2005
I wonder if anyone can help me in this strange world of the resophonic guitar. I have no haggis supplier in my locality and wonder if anyone would be prepared to help me with mail order. I am also interested in acquiring smoked fish and other fragrant delicacies. Thankyou all,

Richard Head

2/4/2005
I know who knows I sent it too!

Thrrrrrp!

2/3/2005
i know who sent that...

2/2/2005
I heard that outside my tent at Winfield.

2/2/2005
u sooo bad.....

2/2/2005
Teeny tiny Todd -- Bless him!

2/2/2005
There he goes

2/2/2005
Just put him in a small airtight box and mail him.

Todd? Who is Todd?

2/2/2005
sally, he's pretty small, you could sneek him in your luggage next time you come over, and it would be great to have Todd over here.

dave

2/2/2005
please keep us well informed about how it goes in the studio todd-o... and FYI- dave lennie and bill, i have told todd ( over a marg at dinner tonite) that he has to come and visit you all across the pond...

2/1/2005
Whiskey b4 scottish breakfast? During? There I go .................

1/31/2005
my gosh, I go away for a few days and ya'll go flippin NuTz!!! I love it. Dave, Bill, Lennie, alright fellas? How's the times across ye old pond? eh eh Veeeeerrrrrry nice. I am getting ready to record another cd with hit and run. I'll give you all a little play by play perhaps here on the board, with Sally's blessing of course. Sally, I am calling you tonight. K?

1/31/2005
There is no Loch Lennie, there's a Loch Linnhe. and would that be whiskey before or after breakfast dave

1/31/2005
Bill

You won't be allowed in to scotland next year. Even if Lock (sic) Lomond was a typo, they won't believe you, never mind serve you wiskey....

I don't care how many nipples there were on the lock Lennie

1/31/2005
Dave distressed the potatoes by attacking their self esteem for a couple of hours. Haggis has improved things significantly!

Mike McGoldrick was superb!

Top event of the weekend -- Dave and I having Scottish breakfast on the banks of Lock Lomond. HArdly a ripple on the loch at all! Sublime!

Bill

1/31/2005
Champit tatties are distressed potatoes. So lennie and Bill what side-effects have you noticed since the haggis incident! dave

ps the concert was great even with Jerry, Tim and Danny Thomson missing. Got to hear a couple of US singers for the first time....Mindy Smith and Beth N Chapman... different and enjoyable. Highlight of the night I think was the playing of MIke McGoldrick (Uillean pipes and whistles) Run close second by Bruce Molski

1/31/2005
If you are referring to fence posts in a racist way then I want no more to do with this guestbook. If you are not then it is a red one.

I have a Beard - does anyone have a Bradley?

HAggis -- PAh!

Hi GRampy! What does haggis do for a nycleharpa?

1/30/2005
aaaahhh... you are all such little vagrants...

1/30/2005
what kind of fence post are we talking about?

1/30/2005
I have eaten haggis for only 3 weeks and now I don't need a capo. Thanks BBC

1/30/2005
Haggis nonsense -- I have been eating haggis for 35 years and my IQ is similar to that of a fence post. Also, my "donger" has shown no signs of becoming scarier.

So -- what capo do you use?

1/30/2005
Jerry, together with Tim O'Brien could not make it to Glasgow on account of the weather. Really -- it's official!

1/29/2005
and by the way---- Lennie!!!!---- my my my.

1/29/2005
how nice of you to think of me to stand in as a stand in for Jerry! i don't think i could do justice on that one!!! i don't reeeely want to know what eating haggis, even if it is a vegan haggis would do for me... spencer, i know there is no way you would trade in any of your dobros for a nycleharpa, even tho a nyclehara is cool.... don't you dare... how did the concert go, or did you guys just sit around , play dobros, and drink pints and single malt??? okay- i give , what is a "champit tatties"? i know that tatties are taters, so what is champit? please inform now......

1/29/2005
You'all are a bunch of losers! I've traded in both my great dobros for a nycleharpa...because (don't you know) VASEN RULES!!! It's all I listen to these days up in the snowy north country of Wisconsin...while I'm skiing, dont you know. I'm SO cool. Now you can say all the mean things you want to about me...I don't care...I'm going away to Florida, and I'll never see any of it. Ha!

Do check out Vasen's new CD "Keyed Up" on Northside...Amazing!

Spencer

1/28/2005
re haggis, according to the BBC, if you eat haggis twice a day for 3 weeks you get a 5 point increase in your IQ. That would bring some of you guys up to double figures, you should really think about it!!!

Also, if you eat it twice a day for a year, your donger will get longer ( they didn't say what it does for gals, best not to speculate ).

Anyway it was on the BBC so it must be true.

lennie

1/27/2005
sally they should have phoned you to stand -in.

dave

1/26/2005
AAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

1/26/2005
I've just phoned the venue, so i'll answer my own question. Not a wind-up! thanks for the heads up. dave

1/26/2005
that,s a windup

right????? dave

1/26/2005
Um - Looks like no JD at Celtic Connections. Sorry guys. MB

1/26/2005
Yup, haggis wi bashit neeps an champit tatties and the compulsory Ardbeg. I've even got a veggie one so lennie doesn't miss out on the culinary delight. We traditionally eat haggis around Jan25th, Burns night. But I eat it lots of the time coz it's great!! I'll send you one.

dave

1/26/2005
i suspect that Billy boy is not really 41? i wish i could be there to see the show with you boyz. I know it will be a great show! Lennie told me that you plan on eating haggis whilst he is there... ugh... but he says the BBC says that eating haggis at least twice a week apparently has magical properties? he says it is true since he heard it on the BBC... hmmmmm

1/26/2005
Sally if you want to call that quite old guy Bill, you'll need to call him at my house coz him and lennie are staying with me this week-end. We're going to see jerry on saturday night at Celtic Connections in Glasgow.

dave

1/26/2005
41? ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha

1/25/2005
happy b-day old chap. Love Todder

1/25/2005
I was 41!

1/25/2005
Bill Dalton, shame on you for not telling me that!!! i need to send you a b-day of some sort!!! Happy late birthday to you, i will call you this weekend... sally

1/24/2005
It was Bill!

1/22/2005
okay i give - whose b-day is it???

1/22/2005
Today is my Birthday

1/21/2005
I use a metronome Hugh Jarss

1/21/2005
I heard that outside my tent at Winfield

1/19/2005
Don't they all?

1/17/2005
I know a bad banjo player that does

1/17/2005
is there a metronome that goes faster as you get more excited?

1/14/2005
I use percussion tracks in Cubase -- you can move the tempo around and also it is quite fun to practice your BG tunes to other rhythms. Sad I know but there I go.............

Bill

1/14/2005
A small person in the Paris underground?

I try to use one but isn't it boring

1/14/2005
I resemble that remark

1/14/2005
metro-gnome? a small person who lives in a city?

1/13/2005
I always do

Hugh

1/13/2005
We all should but we probably mainly don't. I got some freeware programme's that install a metronome on your computer, and I've not been using it!! dave

1/13/2005
Does anyone practice using a metronome here?

1/12/2005
I have been using 20degree Zookies for a while now - Large. I used to use Dunlop medium but Sally said that they looked girly on my manly thumbs. I do the hot water thing like Dave 0-- remember not to keep your thumb in boiling water for too long as it may swell.

Now back to surreal recipe posting,

Bill

1/12/2005
yes

1/12/2005
a volute' is GRAVY. it's one of the mother sauces. I am mispelling as always, or maybe not... it looks correct. hmmmmm. I don't use a thumb pick, cause I don't use my thumb when I play, is that weird???

1/12/2005
oh I forget to sign that last post. it was me. apologies for the typos!!

dave

1/12/2005
I use golden gate thumb picks, the broad bladedones that are a sort of creamy yelloe with a stripey pattern through them. I have small but perfectly proportioned thumbs and even the small goldengates are a bit big so i pop them into hot water and gently bend them into the shape i want, then plunge them into cold water to set them. You'll have to repeat this from time to time as they do loossen with time. Its a good idea to have a couple that are even too small for those really sweaty moments when you've been playing for a while and it's cookin. i use porpick reso finger picks, the brass ones as I'm allergic to nickel. I'm not entirely happy with them but am unaware of suitable non nickel alternatives....any ideas people??

1/11/2005
I took Sallys class in 04 and went from a Stevens bar to a S-3 Shubb bar, I like it very well now.Dunlop .25s are a bit tough on the cuticles but they stay on good, the Propik feel like they are about to fall off all the time.I need a good recommend for thumb picks, they all seem to spin, right when you need them most. BS

1/11/2005
Meaning of VOLUTE Pronunciation: vu'lyoot

Definition: [n] a structure consisting of something wound in a continuous series of loops; "a coil of rope" [n] ornament consisting of a curve on a plane that winds around a center with an increasing distance from the center [adj] in the shape of a coil

1/11/2005
Sally - I tried just about everything and always went back to my Dunlop .025s. The propiks always seemed to me like they were ready to fall off. Then I found the Showcase 41s and have used them exclusively since. I still have my perfectly bent .025s in case of emergency though. MB

1/11/2005
Well - no need for an ashtray at this time, but a drink holder, or cheesecake holder, would come in handy from time to time. There I go.

MB

1/11/2005
Has anyone developed an attachment for your reso that holds both a drink and an ashtray?

1/11/2005
A lute with a resonator.

1/11/2005
PS- just what is a ' volute '?

1/11/2005
I agree Hugh! sally here, just keeping an eye on the madness that seems to prevail on my site these days. Fear not, they are all quite harmless and good players to boot... I use a sharp-ended bar due to wanting to use pull-offs and hammer-ons. you just can't really do that well with a round nosed bar. If your style of playing isn't that style, than a bullet bar is perfectly fine...now,,, don't all of you other nuts go nuts that i just said that... i also use the old fashioned dunlop .025's for their strength and picks like nationals just tear my cuticles up. A lot of players like the propiks, which i do as well, they are just really really exensive and when i lose one, it really is frustrating to shell out more big bucks for them... in the meantime, welcome to the site, it is good to hear some actual slide questions once in a great while. love to all of you out there, surrealy yours, sally van

1/11/2005
I use a round end bullet tone bar -- slants etc. are easier I think.

What advantage do these new sharp ended tone bars have, if any?

This is a very interesting and often surreal place to surf in.

Hugh Jampton

1/11/2005
I know Todd ---It's true! Nice fellow and all of his head is red. Blue feet I seem to remember too!

Oh -- Mad too. In the worst sense of the word.

I used to be Grampy's community help worker too. Bless him.

1/11/2005
Todd the mad, (and I mean mad in the best sense of the word). Redhead!!!

1/10/2005
Todd who?

1/10/2005
I like PRo Pik Reso brass picks. Gotta take em off to shower though!

1/10/2005
Bill, I miss you. Todd

1/10/2005
i like showcases 41s they sound good to my ear. My ear doesn't pay for em though! My hand does, it goes into my wallet and pulls out the credit card that I can't afford and then I go a little NuTz and they usaully ask me to leave the store which ALWAYS makes me mad and the next thing you know I've been stunned or maced in the face... ooops sorry, too much info. I like the 41's

1/10/2005
the kind that can cook a volute' to perfection!!! Another tip would be the kind that can brunoise a carrot. Just my two cents...

1/10/2005
Does anyone have any tips on what finger picks I should be using?

1/10/2005
Dontcha just love the old folks. There he goes .........

1/10/2005

1/10/2005

1/9/2005
You know -- I had the best cheesecake in Lyons.

1/9/2005
Grampy is a bit of a connis sewer when it comes to the full Scottish.

Anyone here like cumin? I make a great pitta bread with roast cumin.

Some plans for a good bbq set up would be good.

1/9/2005
Are we now getting cooking advice from the U.K? what has the world come to? I say this with my cow's tounge firmly planted in my salmon cheeks. What does one pinch for a Scottish b-fast? Apart from your own arm, to see if you really are in reality or not. At least that's what I saw in Grampy's eyes after a little SB-fast down by the river. AS for the salad dressings, how's about a nice cranberry basil viniagrette? If interested let me know, and I'll post a recipe. love, The mad bomma

1/8/2005
Does anyone have any tips on tasty salad dressings?

1/8/2005
very interesting! i shall have to try this recipe and will let you know how it comes out...

1/8/2005
North England,South Scotland, I was close and am glad to see that my dish was indeed a breakfast food .If I ever get to the other side of the big pond I know I can find something good to eat.Follow it with the good malt, what more does a man need. Thanks for the recipe. Bob S.

1/7/2005
A good malt is the right thing for any meal

1/7/2005
On a similar vein. The famous Scottish Breakfast. Take a good pinch of.........................

1/7/2005
Pan Haggerty A warming filling dish at a bargain price from the North of England. It is a good choice if you are planning an evening at the pub or for satisfying hungry teenage appetites. Use firm fleshed potatoes such as Desiree, Romano or Maris Piper as they will keep their shape and not crumble into mash at the end of the cooking time.

INGREDIENTS: Butter - 25g (1 oz), Vegetable oil - 1 tbsp, Potatoes - 450g (1 lb) peeled and thinly sliced, Onions - 2 medium thinly sliced, Cheddar or Lancashire cheese - 110g (4 oz) grated.

COOKING: 1. Heat butter and oil in a large heavy-based frying pan. Remove the pan from the heat and put in layers of potatoes, onions and grated cheese ending with a top layer of cheese. 2. Cover and cook the vegetables gently for about 30 minutes or until the potatoes and onions are almost cooked. 3. Uncover and brown the top of the dish under a hot grill. Serve straight from the pan.Can also be served as a breakfast delicacy!!!

Hey sally how do you like your new cookery corner??

haha

dave

1/6/2005

1/5/2005

1/5/2005
