I've never heard of pan haggardy.Doesn't mean it's not real. It could be an east coast breakfast delicacy. All the best for Ne'erday to sally and all her pals here.

dave a half-baked scotsman...but hold the cheeese.

12/31/2004
NOw isn't that chesse and a Scotsman baked in the oven?

12/31/2004
Hot Diggedy!

12/30/2004
Some Scot told me pan haggardy,I dont know about the spelling, was potato and cheese baked..is ti true ???

12/30/2004
PS- i am sorry Bill, there is no noseflute class at RG this year :-)

12/30/2004
HI all! just want to put up a little message about how to help with relief efforts in the best way you can for all the people in Southeast Asia. As you all know, the havoc is long term and so devastating to us ALL. A great organization called OXFAM is a serious, grass roots type organisation that provides help in the most needed areas- if you would like more information on how to help, a great place to go is the moveon.org site, they have all the information about Oxfam, Red Cross and other helping institutions. If we all just even contribute $5.00, that can go a long long way to providing medicines, vaccines, food, tents, water--All the things they cannot get there now and are so badly needed to help put the families who have lost so much in this tragedy back together. We can show that as Americans, we really do care and are there to help. Thanks, for letting me speak about this to you. I hope you all have a good New Years' and stay tuned in to what really matters these days! thanks, Sally

12/30/2004
Come on Bill - Isn't there a noseflute instructor at RG. YOu could have a week abroad program in '05. MB

12/30/2004
Aha! I have the answer! I think.

I hope 06 will be possible. I am hopefully going back to college (yes - at my age!)to study something musically useful (ensemble mongolian noseflute and gamelan banging) in 05. RG should come just at the start of the long college vacations. Fingers crossed anyway.

Where's my ukulele?

12/29/2004
Bob S will not be able to attend the RG academy this year much as he would like to.Maybe 06.Bill Dalton the answer is yours to give.

12/28/2004
Yeah! It is official for Curtis Burch at RG 05!!! I for one am really looking forward to hanging with Curtis- he is such a good soul and such a wonderful player. Definitely his own style. You really know it is him when you hear the 'sound". Now, I need to know what 'PAn HAggerdy " is??? Is it like a secret code ring or handshake??? come on, fill me in, not fair to keep me in the dark... I haven't heard from Grampy, but i know he was in Florida for the holidays. Michael, i will be planning on having some kind of get together during the academy week, so you had better plan on coming 'round! this year, alas, we won't have Bill D or Dave Currie, or Lennie, but i know we will still have fun. Who of you out there are planning on attending the academy??? let me know! I leave this week for Los Angeles, going to do a bunch of recording with the ever so fabulous Chris Hillman, this will be a great time for me. Perfect way to start the new year, which better be better than the last...no more bah, humbug. keep happy, yours in slide, sally

12/28/2004
There he goes

12/28/2004
I see Curtis Burch is officially listed as an RG instructor on the Planet BG web site. You folks are gonna have a lot of fun with Sally and Curtis. I'll be rolling in a couple days before the festival. Not attending the academy this year - but will be looking for fellow coneheads to pick and grin with - there I go. MB

12/28/2004
Wisconsin eh?

12/28/2004
Grampy gets really slow during the winters in Wisconsin. Wait for the spring thaw to hear from him - there he goes.

12/28/2004
PAn HAggerdy eh?

Very nice!

12/28/2004
Convert to the way of the Scottish Breakfast!

Save your chi!

Has anyone heard from Grampy? It must be hard in the winter at his age.

Bless him.

12/28/2004

12/26/2004

TTFN

Bill

12/26/2004
HI Bob! don't worry about it! i am sure that rob wouldn't mind anyway! I will see if there is a way i can take the DVD you sent me and take it to the studio i work in and see if i can convert it- One of the studios i work in uses a PC-based system, and i now they can burn DVD's- so maybe they can do that for me! I do thank you for trying! Hope you all out there had a great holiday, mine was quiet and trying to get over the flu...Maybe Bill Dalton can convert the one you sent him for me? you out there Bill, are you reading this???

12/25/2004
Sally,I had some computer folks over and it looks like I do not have the hardware to convert the dvd. As I understand it a person needs a Dual dvd drive,i.e. + & -, to make you a mac copy.I would love to get Rob's permission but I cant seem to make the web site contact work for me.Anyway I dont want any trouble I was just trying to share, hope I havent stepped on any toes.BobS

dave

12/19/2004
WMG,the Welk Music Group owns Sugar Hill and Vangaurd. The first recording for Jerry Douglas was with Boone Creek in 1977, the album was "One Way Track" also the name of the first cut. Right?

12/19/2004
Dave -- who....................................?

12/19/2004
Yup -- Bob Ickes --- there he goes................

12/19/2004
I reckon it is that Jerry Livingston guy and the band is Up the Creek without a paddle.

Name of the recording is "Give me back my darned paddle you bully or I'll tell Mrs Livingston"

Can I collect my 5$ now?

Fladoby Schree with reverence.

Bob

12/19/2004
yo, you're pretty darm warm.... toasty I would say!!! Mucho love, T-$$$

12/19/2004
PS--- yes, dave, welk empire is indeed a pretty benevolent empire, good folks they are...my guess for the dobro player would be JD, the band Boone Creek and am still working on the name of the recording... how close am i?????

12/19/2004
Hi All! we are indeed foing to remove the scam info about the fake reso fest, etc... It just takes a few days to get the info to the webmaster about it all. such a shame, good on paper, bad in action.... a beautiful sunny day here in colorado, i hear from Lennie and Bill Dalton today that it is VERY icy and cold up in the north hinterlands of england and scotland... makes me want tea and scones. still no word yet if Curtis Burch is teaching with me at RG- still keeping my fingers crossed. If he can't do it, i know it will still be someone fun and killer as well. some fine young man i assume.... Livingstoner, nice questions posed there... I think personally Dave currie will be the one to find the answers to the burning questions you have posed... in the meantime, Open road's latest is now fully tracked, and have begun the final mixes on Len Harvey's recording which is sounding so great... Gabe Witcher on fiddle, waht a scary good player he is! I am going to put up some new photos on the site here pretty quick, hopefully within a few days or so. Good to see all of you messing about on the forum... love it i do... sally

12/19/2004
YOu are going to the Reso Fest (see schedule).

Don't go - it does not exist.

You would do well to remove link to MAtt Roe as a contact too.

I surfed in from JD site.

Crazy people here it seems

12/19/2004
Sally's guestbook eh?

Very nice

12/19/2004
Anyone up for a Scottish Breakfast?

My favourite.

Dave who? Nice fellow?

Fly the Welk

12/19/2004
Rob Livingston eh?

Good picker but as a sound fellow? mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm I'll get back to you.

12/19/2004
That's what I heard outside my tent at Winfield.

12/19/2004
Hey todd, i've been trying to find out about the questions you asked. So this empire was started by lawrence welk??? he's like the american harry lauder right? I'd never heard of him or the empire. is it a benevolent empire? no idea the answer to your questions but it's been interesting.

dave

12/18/2004
oops, I didn't think it was gonna be that long... that's what I heard outside my tent at........ agggghhhhh.

12/18/2004
ok then, he's a nice one eh? zzzzzzzzzzzz. boring.... enough about me... let's talk about....me? so, folks, through tear dimmed eyes I salute my new favorite singer who has gone clear. Bob paisley. let's have a moment of silence, oops it's the ether-net and it's silent, unless of course you have a real player or a quicktime, thingie. how's about a trival type question that will get ya'll's blood flowin to the ol' grey/gray matter, what does it matter? The Welk corporation bought up a record company in the 70's what label did this become? ( it may have just been started maybe not bought, but the Welk dudes DO own that shizz)) here's a hint, their first record had a young dobro player who was he, and what postion did he play on the old gridiron, also what's the name of the first track on that first record by the forementioned label? I hope this all finds you some fun-o-rama and you will be all smiles, along with that silly feeling in your tummy, like when you drive over a bump really fast, like super fast, not slow, but fast. May evil become confused on the way to your house, and may he stop off for a pint, or maybe he'll go to that neighbor's house that you don't fancy all that much anyway, cause he's always beating you and Jarts and the annual neighborhood picnic hot dog eating contest, and the "yard-off" competiton that happens on the 3rd day of July every other year! Peace. yours in RESO, the ever laughing silly but not TOO silly but often funny, yet not so handsome, but quite charming, and always up for a good Scottish b-fast, in the morning, but not up for the mid afternoon snack unless of course it involves some more of the five-mentioned EF that comes along with the hash browns and the poached legg with the yolk all runny. Todd Patrick Livingston aka Charming robert, lifeless tim and the ever popular Stu Padasu.

12/17/2004

12/17/2004
Fine young chap - MB

12/17/2004

dave

12/16/2004

12/16/2004
Went to see a band from westcliffe?? col last night here in glasgow, called sons and brothers. 4 piece, dad and three sons. they sang really well with great harmonies and the eldest son ..Mike played dobro very well. talking with him later he said he knows todd livingstone.....hm and he seemed such a nice young man!!

Just kiddin todd!!

Ah ....... Open Road......there they go

My name is not Ray!

12/11/2004
you are all so goofy! just got home from another day of recording with Open Road, gonna be a seriously great record. (can you still call them records??? )-anyway, so nice to have the spirits of Shooby showing up!!! makes me laugh... also wanted to let you know that the reso school/fest thing in Dallas is definitely not going to happen for me... I have found out way too much to be associated with something so wrong. If you all want or need more info about what i am talking about, go to reso-nation.org i think it is , go to their forum or email Lee Hiers/Betty Wheeler and check out the almost unbelievable reso-saga... it looks pretty grim, and there is definitely shady things going on with the folks who are purporting to put on this festival. You can get ALL the dirt about it , i think, on Jerry's site-- likely all the reso sites... I have been filled in on the gory details of the scam, what a bummer that so many reso folks have been ripped off about the guitars they ordered, etc. So, I will NOT be appearing there, and likely it is not going to happen... i believe they shut down the webstie and I know Ivan Rosenberg will not be there even though this promoter listed him without his permission as being there along with the rest of us who were "hired"... on a good note, for anyone of you thinking of not attending RG Academy this year--you may be losing out on a great opportunity to hang with one of the greats. It is not fully official, but there is a great chance we will also ( beside me) be having Curtis Burch as well. We should know soon. I am so excited at the prospect of this!!! Curtis is not only a killer player, but such a great guy to hang with. He knows soooooo much about it all. good blues player as well. Hopefully very soon you will see a posting on Planet Bluegrass's site for the teachers listed. keep you fingers well-crossed, light a candle, what ever it may take , that he can join us all this summer. Planet bluegrass's website is www,planetbluegrass.com in the meantime, off to sleep, studio again tomorrow, keep yourselves well, and happy too. my best, sally

12/8/2004
hey Bandon Bob.... Anders here, would you drop me a line at anders@brokemountain.com. Sally was nice enough to let me hang out with the class that last day.... it was awesome and i would love to revisit some of that phenominal dobro playing. I remember going back to my band's campsite for practice right after that "class" ( i was late... oops), i have a S.E. Grin on my face and everybody knew i had just witnessed something special. I tried to put it into words, but didnt do it very well.... Oh well. That was awesome. Cheers, Anders

12/7/2004
Sally, Bandon Bob here,if I put a dvd- in my pc will it record from a dvd +. I have no clue ,but I will give it a try.Give me a day or two to russle up a dvd-r,also I will need your paper mailing address. PS maybe I shoulda said Rob and Sally doing some fantastic jammin huh???

Bill Walton - there he goes. BD - I have a bunch of RG and RGA pictures on my computer. I can e-mail you some soon - just need to find the time while I'm at home. MB

12/7/2004
hi all! i indeed have been alerted to the thread on JD's about the reso saga, and want to let you know that there is a possibility of my not attending. Not sure what to do yet, but my instinct for self-preservation is kicking in. will keep you all in the know for anyone planning on attending this reso school thing. So far, it all is starting to appear shady to say the least! sally PS- rob livingston says howdy to all out there....PSS- BOB fro bandon- sally herself would really love a DVD of 'sally and rob going at it"... (hmmmmm) so the info you would need would be that i am a Macintosh user, so the DVD needs to be a DVD-R, not a '+R.. i would love to see any or all of that stuff from that day, (primarily so i might steal a few bob ickes licks)... any chance???

12/7/2004
It's been quiet here recently. I take it that you all are watching and reading how the reso soap opera is unfolding on other boards.

Anyway -- anyone got pics of RG + RG academy 2004. I thought I had a few (a coupla silly ones from Ernie anyway) but I am sure there are more around. Anyone got any so send me?

Cheers to all,

12/1/2004
Hey sally... Anders here. Did you get that Burle tune that we sent you? Did you like it? Want me to engineer your album? HAAAA! Can't wait to hear the badly bent album! Cheers, Anders

11/30/2004
Doesn't have to be BG as far as I'm concerned. Remember Bob Ickes (there he goes) said he would duet with you. I think there were som others at RG that said the same. I'm sure that may be a logistical nightmare though, unless you coralled people from Telluride or RG. As for ideas, Into the Canyon (or is it Valley) needs to get on there. At least that way you may be forced to stop working on it. Whatever you choose - it will be saweet. Maybe you can get some folks to help you out when CO festival season, and more out of towners are around. Any word on if you'll be an instructor at RG next year? I'll be there for the festival only. I'll be in a day early and leaving a day late. We'll have to get together for a meal and some picking. I'll have my Scheerhorn by then (actually I should have it in a month or so). OK - gotta go for now. Take care - MB - P.S. The Bob Ickes thing (sorry Rob) is an inside joke thing, some folks around here may get a chuckle out of it.

11/30/2004
I am trying to, I have some good ideas coming into my head about it.--BUT--- I am open to suggestions about what else could go on it? so far, it is anything but a bluegrass record, so if you have a good idea, post it, and i will look at the idea! thanks! sallyPS--- zero degrees F here last nite... lots of snow!!! brrrrrrrrr.

11/29/2004
Uh - Bill mebbe. Sally - sounds like you've been busy. Hope you're keeping your recording in the back of your mind. MB

11/27/2004

11/16/2004

10/28/2004
I figured as much, the offer remains open, any time. Got my shirt today looks great, thanks. wash cold water did I hear Bob S

10/28/2004
Sally, back to the wishbone ash thing. I think that a few tracks with harmony dobros would be really cool. I can't think of too many instances of folk doing that. i can remember on HardTimes rob and jerry do it with ruben and then there@s some on great dobro sessions. Maybe it's just too much hassle to get it pitching just right in a studio situation?? better live but how often do you get two dobro on stage......good idea though!!

dave ps they had hits with "time was" and maybe "jailbait" I think but I only owned "pilgrimage"

10/27/2004
oh that sounds a bit tempting, but I will be on a tight schedule, just literally flying in and out, so maybe sometime when I would actually have the time would be fun! I do plan on putting my toes in the pacific at least once while in the City....

10/27/2004
Sally, you could stop and stay with Bandon Bob on your way to Sf.Its free and does wonders for cabin fever. At the most I might ask you to play me some Brother Oswald type tune.BobS.

10/26/2004
Patrick Landeza and Cyril Pahinui!!!! plus SVM --WOW! Slackgrass?

10/24/2004
wow! make my day both of you!!!!! i am working on it, that is why i am holding the bake sale to get sally back in to finish this recording i started two years ago!!! (meaning the T3 t-shirts)--- it is great to hear from both of you! i would love for both of you to either send me your email address - you can email me through the contact page, and i will get it in my home account! It would be great to catch up and hear what you have been up to Mark!!! I have a great photo of the dobrozoo trio up on my desktop to always make me smile! Fall is almost over, the nights are getting colder, and i am getting into my pie-making, stew-creating mode. Anyone out there have good cabin fever solutions???? send em! I go to San Francisco CA to play a cool gig in early Dec with wonderful slack key players Patrick Landeza and the inimitiable Cyril Pahinui, which is a dream come true to be the dobro player for these two guys. I grew up as a teen, (YES I was once a teen) on the recording of Cyril's father, the one and only Gabby Pahinui, so this is really a wish list of good things to have done in my life come true!!!! plus, i get to see my ocean again, and breathe in the soft air... i promise to work at getting this durn recording done soon... got some way beautiful stuff on it tracked already. Some Lovely irish airs, with Gerry O'Beirne, and am looking at working with John Doyle, egads, i am a fortunate girl!!! thanks for writing and remember to send me your email addresses!!! sally PS- do you think a wishbone ash would be good for the record??? :-)

10/23/2004
How figgin cool is Sally? Let's hear a big AWWWW YEAH!!! for SVM. Smile Sally, cause you's a badass. Get that next record out. I need some TONE worship. ps. that wasn't me yanking you to get the record out, I just think the world needs another Sally record. peace out... Pete Sweeney

10/23/2004
Dear Sally, how are you? I was in your dobro class at sorefingers 2003 and wrote to you shortly after to say how much I got out of it.Saw Mr.Dalton at Didmarton this year and had a good crack with the dobro zoo mob as well.Anyway God bless you and your music.Mark Langmead.

10/22/2004
Wishbone ash were brilliant. Only Andy Powel (gibson flying V)left from the original line-up. The gig was full of hip and happening people and their grandchildren.

dave

10/21/2004

10/21/2004

hey sally here, One of the cool things about the shirts, once you wash them properly, is that they get that slightly distressed look, which is hip and happening these days!

10/20/2004
hmmmmmm... cold shower..... what does that suggest to you Dave???

10/19/2004
Just wear it inside out and have a cold shower Dave.

10/19/2004
Oh and hey, Dave, don't you do your own laundry over in Scotland?????

10/19/2004
Hi there!!! One more note about hte T-3 shirts! (from Sally) the proper care for any silkscreen foil type shirt is to turn them inside out, wash them in COLD water--Not hot!!! They will still be clean in cold water! It is natural ( this is according to the manufacturer) for some of the metal look to tarnish somewhat, so just be a good T-3 owner and wash according to the instructions on the label of the shirt! thank you, sally

10/19/2004
thanks sally i'll tell diane!!!!

10/18/2004
One quick note for all the folks who have bought the shirts! - you need to turn them inside out when you put them in the wash, as the emobossed part of the shirt is made with aluminum, and that might just come off a little bit when in an agitator-type machine... if you turn them inside out, there should be no problem! i have done that and there was no problem with that. thanks, sally

10/14/2004
glad you like it! I m almost out ot them at this point, they seem to be selling well, gonna have to have more made me thinks!!!

10/3/2004
New Mexico lurking? Looking for volunteers to try the same so I hear Ernie -- reply G.Fawkes@wehateblair.com. No previous experience needed.

10/3/2004
Remember remember the fifth of November, gunpowder, treason and plot. I see no reason why gunpowder, treason should ever be forgot.....

right? Ernie

10/3/2004
As we say here - remeber, remeber the 5th of Noveber! Does that snippet of English history make sense to anyone?

10/3/2004
yippeeeee! hey I noticed that I can't seem to spell anymore!!!(see the word "remeber")...

10/3/2004
Just confirming the total with the UK guys Sally. Looks like 8 I reckon. I'll confirm real soon.

TTFN

Bill

10/2/2004
hey Billy boy! you need to let me know about the T-shirts! REMEBER TO REGISTER TO VOTE EVERYONE!!! YOUR VOTE DOES COUNT IN THIS COUNTRY!!! thanks! sally

10/2/2004
Nice one Dave. Bill Little's "Gadgie" guitars are really cool. I like particularly the model played by Sue - Bill's wife. Quarterman cone - almost a weissonborn body (but Aluminium). Sounds holes are shaped like lizards. Sweet tone. I would like one a lot. The biscuit bridge model is a blues monster. I have some pics if anyone is interested.

Cheers,

Bill

Oh - Check out the Vern Williams band -- cool BG!

10/1/2004
so happy you like em Danny!!! You are the second one to own such a magnificent thing, you know!!! For all of you out there, Danny Van is my wonderful brother Danny who is a great mandolin player and singer in the bluegrass world as well as an inspiration to me. Let me brag just a bit here!... Danny & I have always sung together, lots of bluegrass music, and from time to time, we play and sing with the fabulous Delbert Williams, whom you may remember from the Vern Williams Band. Enough-- just thought you might like to know that! Anyway, it is great to hear from you all, and I am thinking of new ideas for the website- anyone got any good ideas for fun or musical education out there? Should there be a technical page for questions? Lemme know what your ideas are! thanks, sally

9/30/2004
NICE SHIRTS SAL BUG,YOUR BRO DANNY VAN

9/30/2004
Sally the spider version sounds good....different from a wood bodied but good. The biscuit bridge really growls. Bill has played them too... what do you think Bill? i'm talking about the gadgies made by Bill Little.

dave

9/29/2004
Hi Dave! yes I did, I guess I just forgot to email you about them! Been pretty busy this last week or two! That looks like a real nice quality guitar he built! How do they sound to you? How is everything up Glasgow way? I wish you two could be here at the moment as we are gaining on the fall color and the weather couldn't be sweeter than today. am sadly going to miss IBMA- just can't make the time this time around. But have sent Todd Livingston a box of shirts to hawk for me. what a sweetheart! tonite Druha Trava is back in town, so I am going to take them to the most seriously authentic Mexican joint called Efrain's in Boulder. they have the hottest and most genuine Chile Verde. Next time anyone of you who is here visiting, I dare you to try this stuff... I am too weak for it myself, but I know it is good for thinning the blood, or putting hair on your chest. Not for the fainthearted.... sally

9/29/2004
sally, dave here. Did you get my email last week with the pics??

dave

9/28/2004
well, i got kind of scared about the cool and the gang thing, but hey, i am okay now! heard from Todd, he says he doesn't really remember the posting, but i told him to look down the page for it... I think he just had to much coffee... well, unfortunately, i don't think i can make it to IBMA- sad about it, but got too much going on. Can't even do two days, so i will just have to hear how much fun you all have there. I did send a bunch of the the new T-3 shirts to Todd Livingston, so for all of you that want one, he will have them by Tuesday sometime! I sent along to him 10 Larges and 5 XL's--- anyway, cold and overcast here today in Lyons. Went and not only saw Fragment, Henrich Novaks great band, but also saw Druha Trava, and did they sound great as well!! Two good bands in one week, what a treat! I know we all love the big guys dobro playing so much, but seeing and hearing both Lubos Novotny and Henrich Novak helps remind me of what other great players there are out there!!! Try never to pass up a chance to see either of these bands, they have a lot of great music to offer up. You guys will get to see Henrich at IBMA, you lucky ones! Please send him my best when you see him! Make sure he is wearing a T-3 shirt Todd... that is all for now. I am looking forward to a very busy winter, lots of producing again, this time for a Durango CO group by the name of Badly Bent, as well as another project in the works for Open Road. Should be a great time all the way around. and if the T-shirt sales go well, i finally will get to do some studio time for little old me. in the meantime, keep your smiles going, and if you aren't REGISTERED TO VOTE, remember that OCTOBER 4 IS THE LAST DAY TO REGISTER!!! NO MATTER WHAT POLITICAL AFFILIATION YOU BELONG TO, IT IS IMPORTANT TO VOTE!!! Thanks, sally

9/28/2004
I think I scared everyone away with my "Cool and the Gang" comment. I didn;t get to the post office this weekend Bill - hopefully soon. Sorry for the delay.

9/27/2004
Been quiet here lately. Post again Todd!

Bill

9/21/2004
Cool and the Gang Sally. Hope you can make it. If not, I'll see you somewhere down the road.

MB

9/21/2004
all you have to do todd,is scroll down this forum to see the living proof of your intereting ramblings!!! i really do think it happened! anyway, i am home tonite and tomorrow, so give a call and we'll figure out where to ship it, as i have to ship them this week likely to get them there when you will be there! Hey Michael, if i can make IBMA, it will likely only be for wed/thursday. I jsut don't know if i can find the time, am so busy at the moment. I will include a large for you, it is preshrunk, so you should be fine with it. thanks! sally

9/20/2004
hey gang, todd here, how's about that post? I don't recall writing it, so it must not of happened eh? Sally, I am calling you soon. Later, Todd

9/20/2004
Not in the past couple years anyway ;-) MB

9/20/2004
XXL is is then MB

9/20/2004
I'll be at IBMA and will buy one of your shirts from Todd. If sized normal and won't shrink, a large will do. If a little small, or shrink potential - I'll need an XL. It would be great if you could make it Sally. I have a hotel room I won't need after Thursday night so unless I hear from someone who needs it, I'll cancel the reservation for Friday and Saturday nights. Only going to be there 2 days due to a wedding in New Orleans over the weekend. I dread that week. Two days at IBMA then 2 days in New Orleans. Rough - but someone has to do it. MB

9/20/2004
HEY TODD L--- give to sally a phone call and soon!!!!!

9/20/2004
what a great thought/dream Michael! thanks for that! the T-shirts are ready to go- You can order them directly from me just by sending me a little ol check / money order- $ 24 if inside the states, $27 outside the states, this does include S/H, etc... also, If I can't make IBMA, which i am trying to figure out how to get there, todd Livingston(ed) should have a few for you, these will go for a bit less, cuz the shipping will be less to get them to todd in Louisville KY- I will likely only send about 8 of them to him, but hey, email me and let me know what you guys want. already have sold a bunch, they are going fast! Let me know via this forum this week who is going to be at IBMA and i will be sure to send enough shirts to todd! thanks everyone! sally- HOPE TO SEE YOU AT THE IBMA!

9/20/2004
Wow - lots of activity on here. I want some too TL. Sally - I had a dream that I saw you somewhere unexpectedly. So you are destined to make it to IBMA (or the Birchmere with Hot Tuna). Look forward to getting one of them thare t-shirts.

MB

9/20/2004
Share some with me too Todd!

Livingston eh? Very nice!

9/20/2004

Tut at IBMA -- how old is he now??

Hi to all

Bill

9/18/2004
whoa there buddy!!! sally here, just got off the phone with Henrich Novak, they are playing tomorrow nite(the 19th) at Swallow Hill in Denver, of course i will go down and hang out with them all! so excited to do that. For all of you who do not know of Henrich, he is the wonderful dobro player for the Slovak/Czech band called 'Fragment'. If anyone local reads this today, please go down and see them. they are wonderful. Swallow Hill's site does not list them, but they are indeed playing. So go support your international dobro players!!! todd, i will email you today. I have been watching the weather news with all the news about the flooding in the Asheville area, what a bummer... I am still working on trying to get to IBMA- i really really want to go there this year. Gotta see Tut, if for no other good reason, Tut is the man... love ya all sally PS- todd, what were you drinking or eating??? ;-)

9/17/2004
Bill.....Bill....? BILL!!!! yo man, todd here. Hey everybody. Sally what's up? How's Lyons and Miss Kitty? I am in Ashville, and holding on cause the winds are cRaZy right now. Seems to me that there's lots of flooding, and rain out my rear-end-o. Hit and Run just played a set at Dumpling Valley Bluegrass Festival in Kodak TN. We are gearing up for a gig tomorrow night at a local club. I am quite off me rocker right now and the cause is the ever wonderful, superfantasic, blah blah blah, EF! just wanted to say HI to all of ya'll. HI, there. Sally, email me about the shirts for IBMA. I am totally up for helpin you out. Here's my addy. toddresonator@yahoo.com Grampy... Grampy...? GRAMPY!!! Peace, Todd ps, The shirts are way cool. I haven't taken mine off since I left boulder. PU P.s.s. Is this the longest post? P.i.s.s the great Buddist saying rings true tonight... " a flute with no holes is not a flute, and a doughtnut without a hole is a danish".

9/4/2004
OK you guys, enough about bodily funtion stuff... too gross... hi all! ;icked up the t-shirts yesterday, they turned out nice... the only thing they goofed on was that my web address on the sleeve is pretty small, will have to change it for the next batch--- I will be putting up a little blurb with foto on the main home page for you all to look at. hope you like. they are certainly one of a kind, only reso players will understand it I think... Lenny, leave work, go home and play some guitar, write some more songs!

9/3/2004
Thanks for the comments on the discharge. I think it must have been some sort of infection, the stuff was yellow. love, Bob

9/3/2004

9/2/2004
Tone is the reason why we hang round here. Well -- one reason

9/2/2004
sorry sally, those last two posts were me, I'm lowering the tone, stuck in work and bored out of my mind....

great idea those t-shirts.

Lennie :-)

9/2/2004
nylon shoes & rubber carpets?

9/2/2004
Discharge? Yuk! Penicillin should fix that. I don't like to think about what you are doing with your fingerpicks to cause it in the first place. Does it involve rubber shoes and nylon carpets?

9/1/2004
I guess I dont play fast or hard enough to build up a charge, but I do get a chrge out of playing.B.S.

9/1/2004
Now there is an interesting thread! Michael? Ernie? What about you Grampy?

9/1/2004
does anyone ever get discharge from their fingers, from your fingerpicks?

9/1/2004
Oh no! a shirt geared up for a Dobro head! Can I have mine for a very large Dobro body instead please? :-)

Bill

9/1/2004
that is great! thank you! i will be putting up an announcement this week or next for the t-shirts. I pick them up on thursday this week, i am really excited, as they are special shirts pretty much geared for the dobro head. they will be sold thru the paypal process. so it will take likely a week, two weeks top for you to receive them once the order is placed with Paypal. again, thank you!!! sally

8/30/2004
sally,Im in for the shirt too. Bob S. from Bandon.Do you ever come out this way,if so you could come and see the Oregon coast at its finest.Hope to make back to RG next year, had a graet time hangin with the group.

8/27/2004
that would be good to have a grampy t-shirt!!! i will be happy to reserve some for all of you buddies... I go to have the press check for them on monday, then they should be done that same day... they are fairly expensive to make, but i will try to keep the price down. I wish i could charge less, but to try to pay the bill and also to make a little profit for the recording, i will likely have to charge $24 for them, and likely 26 buckaroos for overseas orders as the postage is formidably expensive... will that be okay? let me know! Dave would love to have you be the distributor! we should talk soon!!!good to keep hearing from all of you. I have a little DVD present for all of you, that should arrive within two weeks or so in the post.. Dave & Diane, even thought you weren't there, i will still send you one too, cuz you were both really missed this year...all my hugs, sally

8/27/2004
Oh -- me too! Bill

And I think I'm going to get a few T SHirts made up with the picture of Scary Grampy for the next time I'm over the pond

8/27/2004
Yeah - me too Sally - I almost forgot about them t-sirts. MB

8/27/2004
Hey sally, Please reserve me a couple of T shirts. I can't think of anything i'd rather do than help towards a new sally van meter solo album. Can i be your distribution agent for europe?

dave and diane

8/26/2004
I heard from Grampy! I think you have scared him with that foto Bill! I hope Michael that some gigs will be in the future with Jack & Jorma- you jusr never really know- but I will say how much fun I had doing that gig with the boyz... they are both such great fellows as well as great players ... My T-shirts will be out in less than two weeks, so i wil be sending you all a litte blurb about it when it happens. --"Send Sally back to studio for her second solo by participating in her little "bake sale" !!! :-) raining here tonite, getting very fall-like, trees are just beginning to turn- am i ready for this???

8/26/2004
Anyone seen or heard from Grampy?

8/3/2004
Hi all! just got home from the Swannanoa Gathering- such a great time was truly had by all there. I was happy and excited to meet and play with a wonderful slide player by the name of Ed Gerhard, whom only a week before the Gathering, was told about by my friend from england, Bill Dalton. and he more than lives up to his reputation as being not only a seriously good slide player, but a funny and warm person as well. We got to do some playing together. I have to tell you that of all the slide players i know, his vibrato is my favorite of all. He has a new recording out called house of guitars, in which he took all these old funky guitars, never changing the old worn out strings on them, and recorded this wonderful record. A must buy for you all out there in slideland. there were also other great teaechers/players, including Al Petteway, Andrew McGill, Steve Baughman, Robin Bullock, Steve James, Mary Flower. All teaching on this beautiful campus called Warren Wilson College, just outside of Asheville NC. the weather was almost perfect, though a bit on the humid side. Waaaaay too much fun for this gal, and now i will pay the long price of sleepless nights, due to that much fun... thank you all for attending the RG academy, you were all wonderful to hang out with and play dobros till the break of dawn kind of thing. i think new friendships were forged in dobro steel, and i hope we can all do it again wherever a camp is held next year. One more little camp, the Fur Peace Ranch camp for me, then into settling down for the fall and winter, into the studios for other folk's projects, and hopefully mine as well... take good care of your sleeping habits, and keep in touch!!! sally

7/30/2004
